Double cleansing your face in the shower with lukewarm water can help you thoroughly cleanse your makeup, spf and the day off your face, neck, décolletage. It is in the shower that you can really focus on areas behind your ear, nose, hairline, jawline. You not only cleanse more thoroughly but are more likely to be able to rinse off the cleanser much more effectively instead of leaving soapy residue behind, which by the way can contribute to congestion. No, you should’t cleanse your face only in the shower but for the night time routine I highly, highly recommend doing so. Once you’re done with the shower it’s important to pat your face lightly and immediately start applying products. When the skin is wet, it is more absorbent, meaning your products are able to penetrate deeper and more effectively into the skin. *When you are using products like DMK that have trans-epidermal delivery systems this will take your skincare game to another level.* Also, when you apply your products right away your are preventing TEWL(trans epidermal water loss) and instead locking in hydration with your moisturizer! Lastly, when you apply your products after the shower this gives you the chance to include your neck and décolletage, areas that tend to be very neglected until you see visible signs of loss of elasticity and wrinkles. SO let’s prevent that from happening to make future YOU proud and happy! Finally, I highly recommend showering at least 1-2 hours before you actually go to bed. B O T O X I often get asked about botox and what I think about it and if its worth doing it. So lets start off with: What is Botox? It is a muscle paralysis agent. It decreases facial motion by temporarily paralyzing the muscles. Lasts anywhere from 3-6 months. . Do I think botox is bad for you? No, absolutely not. Unless you are abusing it and doing too much of it and too often. . It can be used for the forehead, in between your brows, around the eyes, nose, jaw(TMJ, clentching) , chin and etc. . Botox can come in handy for when you have strong facial expressions and you can see a wrinkle/fine line forming, that’s when your collagen is beginning to break down in that area and you will see a permanent line if you don’t address it ahead of time. This is when you should start getting botox. As a preventative measure. Because no matter how much products you will put on you can’t stop yourself from making facial expressions. Facial massaging can also help relaxing muscles and improving wrinkles. . Does botox replace skincare? Never, Botox should be in addition to skincare. Because no amount of botox will help you achieve skincare goals such as clearing out acne, pigmentation, stimulating collagen and elastin production, improving texture and etc. A good skincare routine is vital!
